Grandma Sarah's Molasses Cake

From my Grate grandma Sarah Trombley and my Aunt Connie Goshka

Cream together:
1/2 C shortening
1/2 C sugar
Add 1 egg

Sift together
2 1/2 C sifted all purpose flour
1 1/2 tsp baking soda
1 tsp cinnamon
1/2 tsp salt
1 tsp ginger
1/2 tsp ground cloves

Combine these two & add with the flour
1 C molasses
1 C hot water

Pour into bunt pan. Bake at 350 degrees for approx 35 minutes.
